Presenters | BACK TO TOP

See Speakers page for list of last year's presentations

We are looking for people to present their experiences, and to lead discussions. This conference is for the community, by the community! You do not need to be an experienced public speaker to do the job at this! The main qualification is having some biofuels group experience to share. Please see 2007 conference speakers list for an idea of what kinds of presentations would fit in at this event.

We want to encourage sessions that discuss details: speak from your experience, not your ideals. There have been many biodiesel community conferences that focus on changing the world, or the politics of the biodiesel industry, and we want to focus this event on 'the small stuff'. For example, we want to provide a space to talk about "what pump you use", how your group arranged it's relationship with it's suppliers, what the layout of your space is, how you schedule yourselves when dealing with customers, and what the whole experience has been like in meetings and other communications among yourselves. Both small business and hobby scale projects will be discussed.

Please write to us with suggestions about topics you'd like to see, or topics you would like to lead.

Take a look at our Conference themes/sessions page for idea's of what you'd like to present on.

Homebrewing Introduction: Show How It's Done! | BACK TO TOP
We would like to provide many (repeat) sessions of a basic 'how-to' homebrewing demonstration, to satisfy audience curiosity, and also to provide many different speakers with an opportunity to lead the session.

Please, let us know if you can come demonstrate a basic 1 L batch process (Dr Pepper type). You would need to bring all of the supplies necessary to make a small batch at the conference

If you're interested in having a captive audience watch you make biodiesel, then we're interested in you!

Networking | BACK TO TOP
We will have use of the cafeteria at breakfast and lunch, and those meals will be included as part of the registration cost. We're scheduling one hour of breakfast/coffee time prior to the event, and scheduling a long lunch, and will structure semi-informal discussions during the meals -- for instance, setting up eating tables by region or interest so you can meet others from your area of interest.

Additionally, we will have an evening mingling social on Friday night and Saturday night, and we hope to provide much opportunity for people to network with others on their own. We are renting a space on Saturday night for a party or other entertainment, and Friday night is a low-key tea social where our registration table is set up to sign you in and give you your dorm room.

We want you all to get to know each other. We will ask for short bios about yourselves when we take registration online in a couple of weeks, and will post those at the web site so you can see who is coming to speak, and who is coming as audience members.
